To mark World Mental Health Day 2022, each class watched the 'Talking Mental Health' story. This led to discussions about small, everyday feelings that we might have and how we can overcome them by doing something we enjoy, spending time with family and friends or taking some time out. We then thought about big feelings that can overwhelm us and cause us to act out or lose control. We talked about how we can manage these feelings by talking to someone that we trust at home or at school. We also talked about how we can use the 'Chill Out Zones' around school to take some time to regulate before going to talk to someone about how we are feeling. The story told us how we might all get big feelings from time to time but it was important not to hide them away from others, but to share them to help us to feel better again.
